Amateur Radio Roundtable – April 26, 2016
Our guests this week (April 26) on Amateur Radio Roundtable include Marty Sullaway, KC1CWF, from Waban, Massachusetts, and Jeff Murray, K1NSS from Saugerties, New York.
Marty Sullaway, KC1CWF, earned his license at age 12 and is now 14 years old. Marty will discuss many different aspects of ham radio. He is a big contestor, DXer, antenna builder, and works to bring new hams into the hobby. He is the current and founding president of the Eastern Massachusetts Contesting Club, and loves to mentor new hams.
Jeff Murray, K1NSS, is a ham radio cartoonist, has drawn many ham radio comic characters, and also designs special custom QSL cards for other hams. I first met Jeff through the Heard Island DXpedition where Jeff was asked to provide special on the spot cartoon characters for many activities of the DXpedition. If you followed the DXpedition on their site, you would have seen Jeff’s work. Jeff is known for his dog-faced ham radio character found in dashtoons.com .
Watch Amateur Radio Roundtable on w5kub.com. This show is also simulcast on shortwave radio station WBCQ on 5130 Khz.
